This is an awesome stapler as long as you don’t have issues with loading the staples. When I first tried to load the staples (Swingline Premium Staples), it jammed and I could hardly open it again. I had to use quite a bit of force but if finally opened and cleared. After that the stapler worked like a charm- it staples 25 papers with ease! I love the ergonomic design and the fact that I don’t have to apply much pressure to staple... great addition to my home office.

Fast and Efficient!
This Swingline SmartTouch Stapler is designed to be low force and ergonomic. It’s a solid piece of cold, hard, black steel, and comes equipped with a staple chamber capacity of just over 200 staples. TheSwingline insignia is loud and proud on the soft touch grey handle grip, perfect for showing off to your coworkers. Would you put anything less than premium gasoline in a Ferrari? Didn’t think so. Do yourself a favor and match this stapler up with the Swingline premium chisel point staples. They’re made to jam less and penetrate more. That’s what she said.
Pros: Easy To Use; Value for Money; Design; Easy to Grip; Loads Quick; Requires Less Effort!
Cons: Looks similar right-side up and upside-down.; It’s not bright red

Swingline SmartTouch, a solid choice!

Do yourself a favor and match this stapler up with the Swingline premium chisel point staples. They’re made to jam less and penetrate more. That’s what she said.Pros:Requires less effort! The SmartTouch feature claims to need only 50% the energy that most staplers do. After a trial run of 30 or so staples, we’d have to agree. It’s by far the easiest stapler we’ve used to date.Easy to grip. It’s got added padding (on both sides of the grip) and an ergonomic design to keep you churning through even the most relentless office paperwork stacks.Loads quick. The stapler includes a quickload feature for efficient frontloading of 200+ staples at a time. Less time spent stapling means more time for Facebook at work – sign us up.Cons:Looks similar right-side up and upside-down. We used it the wrong way for 5 minutes before figuring out it went the other way. Not a deal breaker, but unusual. It’s not bright red. Come on Swingline, every coworker in America knows and loves the stereotypical bright red Swingline stapler made popular in the Office Space movie. A small tweak could really turn some heads.
Pros: Easy To Use; Value for Money; Features; Design
Cons: Does not come in red.

The SmartTouch is a Smart Buy
What I like about it is that it's no longer jarring to use this stapler. The design is low to no impact on the hand - you're not slamming the magazine into the anvil on the table. But it's also not a staple "gun" that requires you to press against a surface and pull. This stapler is designed and intended for long-term office use. The packaging claims 50% less effort in use, which I find to be absolutely true. The packaging also claims to go through 25 sheets of paper with a standard staple. I didn't have 25 sheets of paper to test it on, but I did test it on a catalog from the mail and a magazine upwards of 25 pages - it worked as claimed without mangling the staples.
Pros: Easy To Use; Design
Cons: Expensive; Difficult to LOAD staples

The Swingline SmartTouch Stapler feels like a regular stapler in weight but it has an indentation for the thumb which makes it more comfortable. The important part is the use. I tried it on a single piece of paper and I go to hubby "I don't think it is working" Guess what – it was that easy. Barely a touch and it stapled. This would really be great for people who lack sufficient hand strength to use a standard stapler.
